River Rat Bag Outside
About The Project:
River Rat is a print and skate shop located in Lawrence, Kansas. They’re a local business dedicated to make custom prints and sell skateboarding equipment. They have their main shop at the entrance but when you look past the shop, there’s abundant of printing equipment which they use to print merch for personal or commercial purposes.
The goal for this project was to create a bag for local business which HAS to use watercolor in the design somewhere on the bag and I chose to design a bag for River Rat (we were given the option to change there logo too). My design objective was to include digital and physical elements like a collage which would create an urban style. After the bag, I decided to expand the brand by adding some additional items like stickers and a t-shirt.

Whether it was vintage, urban, or creepy I sketched a few outcomes that would best represent River Rat. During my sketch process, I spent time trying to recreate their logo by including their company mascot. But I changed course to just the font.

My idea was to make skater rats and place them on photographs. My inspiration came from skater games like Tony Hawk pro skater 3 and urban city graffiti.
